Acclaimed music therapy expert to launch new book at DFL Conference
August 18, 2010 – Acclaimed music therapy expert Mercedes Pavlicevic is set to launch her exciting new book Taking Music Seriously: Stories from South African Music Therapy at the Drama for Life Africa Research Conference.
Mercedes Pavlicevic is a graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand, Roehampton University and the University of Edinburgh, and the author of Taking Music Seriously: Stories from South African Music Therapy, which she will be launching at the Drama for Life Conference.
Pavlicevic is director of research at Nordoff Robbins, a music therapy charity in the United Kingdom, and associate professor at the University of Pretoria, where she co-founded the Master’s training programme in music therapy.
At the DFL Conference, Pavlicevic will give a keynote address on the transformative power of music and will present a series of case studies emphasising the important role of music in our everyday lives.
