June 07, 2011 DFL Scholar Lesley Nkosi is taking action for the Nelson Mandela Day by collecting blankets for the homeless in Braamfontein and Jozi:

It is cold these days. Really cold.

It’s really hard to sleep at night knowing that there are those women and children sleeping in the cold every
night.

I know I am probably preaching to the converted here but we have to do something a little more than we did last week.

Personally, I am sending out requests to people I know who could donate some blankets to the people at Central Methodist Church and those at the bridge in Brammies.

The idea is not that we can give blankets to everyone but we do what we can. I am pleading with you all to also see if you can collect some blankets and warm clothes for toddlers (at least for now until we can get more organised)...

This Saturday we should be able to give a few blankets to a few mothers and children even though we cannot give to absolutely everyone.

If you want to donate warm blankets, please bring them to ther DFL Projects Office, University Corner, Floor 17, Wits University.
