Film Synopsis:
Ten young artists, musicians and performers come together to work and play around a difficult subject: the stigmas around HIV/AIDS. Facilitated by renowned New York artist Geoffrey Hendricks, and South African performance artist Anthea Moys, the participants engage with performance art and activism on the streets of downtown Johannesburg. HIV/AIDS: in it together is a document of their process, a film which explores the challenges of creative collaboration as a group of talented young people grapple with one of the biggest issues of our time, and bring a surprising and fresh new voice to a difficult subject.
This project is a Nirox Foundation and Wits School of the Arts Exchange and is generously supported by the U.S Embassy and PEPFAR.
