The AAA –HA! Project is set to launch at the Drama for Life(DFL) Festival in August. The AAA-HA! Project is a DramAidE initiated project that is supported by Johns Hopkins Health and Education South Africa (JHESSA) and the main objective of the project is to support art departments at universities in actively engaging students in the creation of HIV and AIDS awareness projects using the medium of art.

This innovative project was launched in 2008 where interventions successfully took place at variousWits University campuses.

Now in 2009 the AAA-HA! Project kicks off as part of the DFL Festival from August 20 - September 5, 2009.

The interactive performances involve Honours and Masters Students in Applied Theatre who have taken on the AAA-HA! initiative as part of the drama curriculum at the Wits School of Arts.

Through this project HIV and AIDS education and awareness is integrated into the curriculum ensuring that HIV and AIDS becomes about us and not ‘them’.

Accompanying these exciting interventions are performances by The Drama for Life Playback Theatre Company and The Truth About You. These two performances tackle the issues of HIV and AIDS from a fresh and challenging perspective and can be seen at the Nunnery and Amphitheatre throughout the AAA-HA! and Drama for Life Festival.
