Kabelo Maqache was born in Lesiamo, Leribe, Lesotho in 1977. He obtained his first degree in education from the National University of Lesotho in 2000. He then taught at Hlotse High School and Molapo High School until 2008, when he joined Drama For Life. He is a passionate performer, writer and poet who has shared most of his work with young people in Lesotho, especially the Molapo High School Theatre Club, which he led to victory in many school theatre and poetry competitions.
Maqache feels that the DFL programme has the potential to make a difference to HIV and AIDS intervention in the SADC region if the scholars get support for their projects when they go back to their home countries. His research interest includes the role of applied drama techniques in effective HIV and AIDS interventions among adolescents in Lesotho.
