Samson Lefika Setumo

Botswana

Samson Lefika Setumo has been working as a professional artist and theatre maker for 20 years. In the 1990s, with Reetsanang Association of Community Drama Groups, he was instrumental in establishing community theatre groups across Botswana. Holding a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Botswana, Setumo is a committed cultural activist who in 2000 established Millennium Production House, a civic education and communication company with strong roots in the arts. Setumo is working towards his Honours degree at the University of the Witwatersrand under the Drama For Life programme. His research investigates the effectiveness of the Millennium HIV and AIDS drama series Basket of Life in provoking dialogue towards behavioural change among the youth in Botswana.
