Lesotho

Teboho Rantsoabe is a 29 year old man from the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. He obtained a BA in Education from the University of Lesotho and recently obtained his Honours in Management at the University of the Free State.

He has taught English and literature at Adventville High School, where he founded the English Club and served as chairman for two years.

Teboho has performed poetry for the Ministry of Tourism Managers’ Awards and was assigned to do an opening video for Smart Partnership International Dialogue. Curious Culture recorded his poem for their programme. He was also involved in the co-founding of Echoes from the Mountain Kingdom, which was aimed at fishing artistic talent among youth in Lesotho.

Teboho’s involvement in theatre began when he was part of Mejametalana film and broadcasting agency and he later acted as a professor and poet in Win Wean; a play about HIV and AIDS, written by Mrs Selloane Mokuku.

Currently, he is pursuing his BA Honours in Drama, through Drama for Life, at Wits.Teboho dreams to use his teaching, facilitating, management and poetic creativity to make his way into script writing, film directing and facilitating workshops and awareness campaigns that deal with the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS and influence behavioral patterns to give his society a true reflection of HIV and AIDS.
