Tutu Matilda Malamamfumu started her acting career in 1960 in Zambia and won Best Actress Award the same year. Since then the prolific performer, activist and theatre maker has directed over 40 productions, acted in 100 and administered over 200. She has been working with underprivileged women, orphans and vulnerable children since 1996, using theatre for development as a vehicle. Currently she is pursuing her Honours degree in dramatic arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is researching whether process drama can provide a space for learning and playing for children between seven and 12 years old to develop a sense of self.
