Pertunia Msani

Pertunia Msani, performance graduate from UKZN and a professional member of the Drama for Life Theatre Company. Pertunia is a solo musician who (for this season) works mostly in collaboration with the audience making remedies for social ills. Pertunia has a keen interest in exploring the power of the voice and so her work is staged/performed without non-vocal instruments. Her latest body of work , an E.P called IZWI - which means ’The Voice and/or The Word’- is an experimental expression and display of the power of the voice as an instrument and tool for story telling. Msani has recently taken a piece of work called 'Ekhaya' to the 2022 National Arts Festival and in curated spaces in Braamfontein. The work is incredibly human centred. No matter who you are or where you come from, your story will be carefully held in Pertunia’s voice. It will be remoulded and formed into something ethereal and full to bursting with connection. Her music is an experience, an embrace which reaches through each person in the room. It is a call to see ourselves and for us to be seen.
